BOREHAMWOOD
STANLEY KUBRICK FILM SCHOOL AND LIBRARY: INHABITING THE UNINHABITED
A Film school and a community Visual Arts library project centred around reducing antisocial crime among young offenders in Borehamwood through creative, technological and practical re-skilling programmes.

The project pays tribute to what once was and shapes the way forward for what is to come. Located on the former gas works site on Station Road, the building pays homage to the site’s industrial roots, incorporating heavy earthy materials such as concrete, red brick and black steel finishes. The aim has been to keep the character of the site, transforming the space and making it a significant place serving the community.

A site previously accessible only to a minority has been reformed to serve the majority.
